Management of Traumatic Stress (ASR,ASD,PTSD)

The guideline is formatted as 4 algorithms, with annotations:

  • Core - Initial Evaluation and Triage
  • Algorithm A - Acute Stress Reaction (2-3 days)
  • Algorithm B - ASD/PTSD in Primary Care
  • Algorithm C - ASD/PTSD on Mental Health
The guideline describes the critical decision points in the management of patients with post traumatic stress symptoms and provides clear and comprehensive evidence based recommendations incorporating current information and practices for practitioners throughout the DoD and VA Health Care systems. The guideline is intented to reduce current practice varaiation and provide facilities with structured framework to improve patient outcome.
